In the wake of global challenges like climate change and inequality, higher education institutions must transcend traditional academic roles to foster holistic, equitable, and actionable solutions. Drawing from Islamic educational philosophy, contemporary critiques of "soulless" education, and post-pandemic realities, this essay explores how universities can integrate sustainability into their core missions of teaching, research, and community engagement.


1. Universities as Ethical and Intellectual Hubs for Sustainability
